Rigo Mendoza, M.D.

Dr. Rigo Mendoza is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and has undergone extensive training in plastic, cosmetic, reconstructive and hand surgery. He was born in Colombia, grew up in Long Island, and called Chicago home for over ten years. He joined The Bassin Center For Plastic Surgery at our Tampa Florida Plastic Surgery Center in 2010.

Dr. Mendoza earned his Medical Degree at Philadelphia’s Hahnemann University. He then extended his training to receive his General Surgery Residency and Burn Fellowship at the State University of New York and his Hand and Microvascular Fellowship at Wayne State University, where he also completed his Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery Residency. He is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American Association of Hand Surgeons, the Illinois Society of Plastic Surgery, and the Southwest Chicago Plastic Surgeons.

Dr. Mendoza also trained at one of the world’s most comprehensive ENT centers, the Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital in New York. He has been featured on TLC’s popular program, “A Personal Story.” One of his patients graces the American Society of Plastic Surgeons’ home page and is featured in their national print ad campaign.
