AquaLipo™ Description

Dr. Bassin is pleased to introduce Aqualipo™, a revolutionary new combination liposuction treatment.  Aqualipo™ combines the fat melting power of Smartlipo™ with the innovative Body-Jet® fat removal system for an effective, safe and gentle way to remove unwanted body fat.  With Dr. Bassin’s Aqualipo™, patients get amazing, long-lasting results, with dramatically less bruising, swelling and downtime than with traditional liposuction techniques. 

AquaLipo™ Procedure

The Aqualipo™ process uses a combination procedure to attack and then remove unwanted fat.  First, the Smartlipo™ system is used to melt away the fat.  Dr. Bassin inserts the Smartlipo™ laser through a very small tube (cannula), delivering laser energy to targeted fat cells. At the same time it is melting the fat, the heat from the laser promotes tissue tightening in the surrounding areas, which will result in a tighter, smoother skin tone.  Once the fat has been treated with the Smartlipo™ technology, it must be removed from the body.  With older liposuction techniques, fat removal was accomplished with aggressive cannula movement, which could result in significant bruising, swelling and “strike” injuries to skin and muscle.  But, with Dr. Bassin’s innovative Aqualipo™ process, fat is gently removed with the Body-Jet® aspiration unit.  The Body-Jet® uses a concentrated water jet to flush intact fat cells from the body, resulting in virtually no trauma to nerves, blood vessels, skin and muscle.  Additionally, because the fat cells are still intact, they can be immediately used for fat injection, without having to undergo a lengthy centrifuge process to prepare the fat for transfer.  This is a real benefit for patients who might want to use their own natural fat cells to help smooth lines and wrinkles and restore youthful fullness to facial areas.

 
By combining Smartlipo™ and Body-Jet®, not only does the Aqualipo™ process result in significantly less swelling and bruising, it also produces tighter, more sculpted results with a smoother recovery period for the patient.  Aqualipo™ is a minimally invasive procedure, which requires no general anesthesia.  Typically, patients need only one treatment, which usually takes about an hour for each body area treated.  Candidates for Aqualipo™ should be in good overall health, close to normal body weight, and have realistic expectations for the results.
